Rotterdam Noordrand Tunnel - general
The tunnel at the north fringe of Rotterdam was dug, but not by using a single method. The greatest part was built with the cut & cover method and with underwater concrete. But the tunnel section near Rotterdam Airport was constructed in a different way - with deep walls - to prevent obstruction of the air traffic.
